I've tried a few different methods, including the original, and am 99.9% certain that it doesn't work. It seems Nintendo knows all about it, because they put an invisible barrier half way up the "endless" stairs.

Oh, and once you grab MIPS and his message pops up, you can't pick him up again.

Why can't you enter the Dry Pipe anymore?
And did you try getting on the castle with 0 stars from both sides?

Well, now there is no green hill leading to the side of the castle (you can walk all the way around it) so it stands to reason that it would be impossible to get up using either method.

Yes, as the back kick no longer works, it is impossible to do it from the left side, and the hill that you would do the triple-jump on is now vertical. The Dry Pipe glitch no longer works for a few reasons. First there is no longer a fire spitter on the roof. Second, Nintendo changed the wall-kick, so now Mario does a longjump off of the wall, thus you can never aim it right. I've been experimenting with Luigi and his spindrift jump, so I might be able to find a way to get in with that.

Great info you've given us that haven't played it. So it sounds like Nintendo actually listened when all these glitches were found and programmed in ways to stop all of them. Very interesting. Dom, when you said "you can walk all the way around it" do you mean that you can now walk all the way around the back of the castle? If so, where can I find a picture of that? I think it'd be interesting to see some of the visual changes (like the vertical wall where the triple jump was performed).

I'm pretty sure you can't walk around it, but I'll let you know soon, I have 93 stars right now...57 to go.

When I said you can walk all the way round, I was refering to the e3 demo. There are videos and pics floating around of 4 players playing outside the castle.Apparently now you can't go all the way round, bummer.

I've discovered the problem. Sorry I was so quick. The backwards longjump trick *does* work... however, it doesnt after the 2nd "backwards" jump. This makes it impossible to jump "through" the stairs... and closes a chapter in glitch history.

I still haven't gotten to play it yet, I need to find someone that will lend it to me for a few months.

Yup, this is a awesome game..picked it up a few days ago. I have about 104 stars now (Beat the third bowser this morning)....writing weird messages on the title screen now! Oh, and like I said in the Gamefaqs "Secrets" topic, the glitch that you could jump through the staircase doesn't work either.

Yeah, I did something yesterday that leads me to believe that it is possible, but I'm still working on it...I have 119 stars right now.
