For those of you who do not know how to do this I strongly reccommend you head over to the main site, www.systemcrash.tk,and read the description for it as well as watch the video.
Could there be a way to beat the game with a lower amount of stars?Right now there seems to only be 2 really likely amounts of stars to beat the game with, and those amounts are 0 and 15.Because nothing major can really be accessed without MIPS,there would have to be a whole new trick to either get MIPS to appear without having 15 stars,or to bypass the door leading to the second floor. But even if we were to get MIPS to appear without having 15 stars,we would need anywhere between 0-8,so my original hypothesis' are only one of quite a few possibilities.Anyone think it can be done with 0?Possibly involving Swiming inside/underneath the castle?Because once we've discovered that, then there we might be able to swim into the area that "teleports" you to the basement(which is really just a doorway, but if we swim near it we will be "teleported" in).And then we just need to find a way into the 30 star door.........
The 16 star completion is a great glitch, but why did no one think of it sooner?I mean,MIPS had been brought into the Bowser 2/Dire Dire Docks corridor before, hadn't he?And there were quite a few ways to swim in levels using the boxes you pick up to wedge yourself through, plus the basement Toad trick. So maybe, like the 16 star glitch, the biggest glitch in the game is staring us right in the faces! We need to try everything........every move,everywhere.........because you never know. And that's why this game has stayed fresh for 8 years:new stuff is being uncovered all of the time. And I'm sure that Nintendo will edit Super Mario 64 for it's port to the DS,and I know I'll be trying to find ways to beat the game with a low level of stars.Unfortunately,if we find anything in the DS game it might be completely unusable in the 64 version, and vice versa.Oh well,we'll just have to wait and see.
Basically this is a topic to discuss the 16 star completion glitch(discovered by Dom Dunc) and to theorize on how to lower the stars once again and pummel Bowser with a low level of power stars.
