Even if you could find a way to push yourself through the warp doors, you would still not activate the warp. You would just end up inside a "black room of death". You have to open the door in the normal way to warp. There is no way to access the inside of the castle by swimming in the water under the castle, because that is outside territory.
At this point, you would only be able to beat the game with 0 stars by getting through the 8-star door and the 30-star door, and by bypassing waterwall into DDD to get to the Bowser 2 entrance behind it. That is, you may not need stars but you do need keys. There is no way conceived by which the warps to the basement and upstairs can be activated without the keys.
If, just for the sake of argument, you could swim under the castle, it would only be useful as a great adventure. You could dive down some unknown distance - there is no known fall zone like there is in mountain courses. But there might be a "lethal" boundary down there that would give you a laughing Bowser death, or a "nonlethal" boundary (the abyssal floor) that you would just bump against. Or maybe you could swim to an unlimited depth until your air runs out. Imagine being able to look up at the castle from some ridiculous depth below.

It not swimming where there is no water that you want, but the reverse. Someone said that by exploiting a glitch in Mario 64 DS that lets you walk on the bottom of the filled moat, you can go in the iron door.
By the way, the BRoD glitches illustrate that door warps only work when the opening-door cinema is activated. You can walk around in the space behind the iron door in the moat (if you know how to get there) and you will not "warp" into the basement.

Well, even if we could access the underside of the castle via swimming, we would most likely run out of air before we could fathom out a way of activating any warps we might come across, and the inside of the castle wouldn't even be loaded, ergo, no warps would be present. Which kinda sucks because the whole "Swim through a warp" glitch would be really cool if it was possible.
