it is in a link to the past, and can only be done on the snes version.
blackout glitch: WARNING! DELETS ALL OF YOUR DATA! ATEMPT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! a randome glitch that delets all of your data. go to the chris hullihan room, and sometimes (very rarely) the screen goes pitch black, and the wires are all plugged in and hooked up, with the game still on. freaky. turn it of and on, and eventually it will work again. but at your file select screen, ALL OF YOUR DATA IS GONE! has this happened to anyone else?

my brother tried it, and it never happened to him. either it's random, or my copy hates me.

How do you get to the Chris Hullihan room anyhow?

I use a method that I believe is pretty standard… Start your game at the Sanctuary. When the game starts, immediately run south, out of the Sanctuary, and then south again, which takes you out of the garden of the Sanctuary. Then run west one screen, and turn south as soon as you can. You should now be in a wooded area. As quickly and carefully as possible, navigate the trees, bushes, and enemies, and head east, to the side passage into the castle walls. Once here, run south, then east, and then north. Run north and INTO the bush that hides the hidden passage into the castle basement, and you'll fall into it. If you're fast enough, instead of falling into the basement, you'll fall into the Chris Houlihan Room. If that didn't make any sense whatsoever, I've made a rough map... It’s not really worth it unless you just want the satisfaction of knowing you’ve been inside it.

What does speed have to do with it?

If you don't do it fast enough, you won't get the room, that's why you have to use the pegasus boots. another way is when you fight gannon, fall donw the hole he makes, and sometimes you land in the chris hullahan room.

iirc whether you actually get into the room or not is determined by the game glitching and not being able to determine which room you'r supposed to be entering. Which is pretty random. So you can go fast and not get in or go slow and still find it.
