Wow, this is a pretty amazing story of a couple of guys who discover a glitch in EverQuest 2 and use it to make real cash! They call it 'duping'. Essentially it is duplicating items without having to pay for them. Then selling the EverQuest money they make on Ebay. I'm putting it in announcements because I think everyone should read it. Ethical? You'll have to decide for yourself. EDIT: Original thread got deleted (I knew it would) so here's a local copy. www.vortiginous.com/domdunc/Money%20from%20EQ2%20glitches.htm

On a sort of related note, here's another story about a guy who became the most wealthy player of Eve online through scamming people. He didn't make any real money, but the story is a great read. static.circa1984.com/the-big-scam.html

Which reminds me... I have to do my ENITELY LEGAL method of inflating the markets at neopets.com (I'm gonna make an accout today...) I wanna see if the method that my uncle described to me works.

I think conspiring to raise or lower inflation or SWAs is against the rules on Neopets.

He isn't 'conspiring' and he posted that 3 months ago, I think he's done it by now :\

Oh, and by conspiring I meant "Getting a bunch of people to raise/lower the price of an item to lower the Shop Wizard Average and possibly the inflation."

I doubt that it would be possible, as they would be instantly bought and sold at a higher price, increasing the inflation again.

Yeah, true. But if you RAISED the price and fooled someone into buying it, or if enough people raised the price so that it would be hard to find normal-priced items using the Shop Wizard, people would buy it, and most likely sell it for even higher to make a profit--and as a result, continue the stunt so you and your helpers can make more NP.

It would still fail, the natural way to gain money is to sell lower than the rest so that yours sell quicker, so this 'stunt' would actually lose money in the long run.
