but when i try to record off of my TV with my Digi Cam, i get frequent black bars across the screen so it doesn't look right, any ideas on how to stop this?

You're just poining the camera at the screen? I don't think there's a way to stop this entirely (it's to do with the refresh rate of your TV vs. the frame rate of the camera) I've found in the past that is you put the camera close to the screen so it fills up the image, you get fewer problems.

i got it as close as possible, it only occurs when there is a rather drastic change in the lighting of whatever is on the screen, i filled it all up but it still did it, is there a way of lower my TV refresh rate or am i screwed?
