Personally, I have a TV Tuner card in my PC, which allows me to hook my VCR directly into it and record onto my harddrive (they cost around $70) but if you have a digital camera or something like that with AV inputs, you could record onto that and then transfer it onto the PC. A last resort would be pointing a video camera at the screen and recording that with that.

Windows Media Player pleeeeeeeease! my comp hates quick-time and that other thing, WMP vids are the only ones i can play!
